long time......

Hello everyone! Life has been full of surprises these days and I am now in the Gatlinburg,Tennessee area with TJ who was recently hired as Arrowmont's new Program Manager. I just assisted a workshop last week with Gay Smith, which was great and am going to be doing some volunteering here until TJ and I can set up our studio at home in August (when our rental is ready!). There are lots of exciting things going on here and though our Art Center plans for Chattanooga have been de-railed, I am happy that this opportunity has taken it place. We were too broke for that endeavor at this time anyway! I am very much looking forward to having a studio at home for a while and I love being up here at Arrowmont with all the summer workshops and slide shows going on!

I have recently posted a bunch of pictures to facebook, so please find me there - and I am working on a new website which I will be updating regularly, so I won't be posting as much as I had hoped to this blog, but I do hope you all keep in touch!

I am very excited that my old roommate and dear friend, Chandra Debuse will be your new resident! You are all very lucky! Chandra is absolutely wonderful and very talented!

SESSION 3

Hello Class! Please check out the Ceramic Arts Daily website. It is a fantastic resource for many things ceramic. Welcome Mitch, Aya, Dan, and Susan Rose to the Tuesday class! It is great to have you. And to all of you, please feel free to email me any suggestions or questions you may have. The next 6 weeks of class will consist of lots of work (hopefully fun) and demos that I am organizing to correspond with the one or two forms each of you have chosen to focus on during this session.

LAST CLASS OF SESSION 2

Hello class - please check out Mark Hewitt's website which you can access by simply clicking on the image of his large jar to the right. All of the links posted on the columns to the right are accessible by rolling over the text and double-clicking. Please let me know if you have any problems! Our last class will be a busy one with a demo on closed forms, a round-table critique (we did this session 1 and it was great - please bring 1-3 pieces that you would like feedback on), a potluck (we'll eat while we crit!) and I'll squeeze in a foot-throwing demo.

Chandra Debuse

At the moment, this is the only photo I can find of my dear friend (and old roommate at UF) Chandra's fantastic squirrels. She will be graduating in the spring and we should all think about a field trip to the UF M.F.A. opening! There are a couple more images on her blog and a google search will reveal a few more, I think.
